Michelle Lewis, Cello
Michelle Lewis is an active and dedicated chamber musician and performer. She has played with many symphonies in the Detroit Metro area including the Adrian Symphony, the Warren Symphony, the Lansing Symphony, and the Dearborn Symphony.
Michelle has received her Bachelors Degree in Cello Performance from the University of Michigan under the tutelage of Professor Anthony Elliott and is currently pursuing her Masters Degree at De Paul University in Chicago. An avid chamber musician, Ms. Lewis has participated in numerous ensembles and has had the opportunity to work with many respected artists such as the Guarneri String Quartet, the Johannesburg String Quartet, Time for Three, the Takacs String Quartet, Menahem Pressler, and eighth blackbird. She also has extensive experience playing for opera and musical theater genres as well as recording experience in the jazz, celtic, and rock genres. A full resume is available upon request.
Originally from Kennewick, Washington, Ms. Lewis also has a very musical family. Her mother, Joann is an active oboe and flute teacher and performer and her sisters are heavily involved in vocal arts and violin performance.
Michelle currently performs on a 2005 Nathan Slobodkin cello.
