Violetta Todorova, Violin
Originally from Saint Petersburg, Russia, Ms. Todorova started playing violin at the age of 5. Her intense study led her to the stage at a very young age, and she made her debut at the biggest concert hall in St. Petersburg, the SKK Arena, at the age of 11; she played Vivaldis four seasons accompanied by a chamber orchestra. A series of solo concerts followed in various concert halls and churches of St. Petersburg. One of the performances was attended by musicians from the US, and in 1999 she was offered a full scolarship to Interlochen Arts Festival in Michigan. She participated in the festival for 6 summers and was the winner of the Intermediate level (2000) and High school level (2003) Interlochen Concerto Competitions there.
Her other major awards include 4th place at the International Competition for Young Violinists in Tallin, Estonia (2000), and 4th place diploma at the All-Russian Competition for young violinists in Nijni-Novgorod, Russia (2000). After completing her middle school at the St. Petersburg conservatory prep, she attended Interlochen Arts Academy in MI which she graduated in 2007. She is currently studying violin at DePaul University in the studio of Ilya Kaler and is a member of Civic Orchestra of Chicago.
