Ruth Marshall, Cello
Ruth Marshall started cello and piano studies at the age of 4 in her hometown of Seattle, WA. After receiving undergraduate degrees in Comparative History of Ideas and Music Theory from the University of Washington, she moved to Chicago to begin a Master of Music degree at DePaul University, where she studies with Stephen Balderston. She has participated in the New York University String Quartet Seminar, as well as the Banff, Aspen, and Round Top summer music festivals. An avid teacher, she is on the faculty at Butler University's Community Arts School in Indianapolis, and maintains a private studio of students in Chicago. Ruth is currently persuing a Certificate in Performance at DePaul and is a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago.
